Fire alarm control panel (FACP) is the central component of a fire alarm system. It is designed to monitor and control various devices throughout a building, such as smoke detectors, heat detectors, and manual pull stations, and to initiate alarms and emergency responses in case of a fire.
The fire alarm control panel (FACP) is equipped with various sensors, circuits, and algorithms that allow it to monitor the status of each device connected to the system. When the control panel receives a signal from one of these devices, it determines the nature and location of the emergency and activates the appropriate alarms and notifications.
In addition to detecting fires, some fire alarm control panels also incorporate other safety features, such as carbon monoxide detection, sprinkler system control, and emergency lighting activation.
